In the spirit of the games, we will be toasting to the various countries represented amongst our guests. Wear your colors or just come and enjoy another rooftop party. There will be plenty of snacks, more than enough drinks, and the Olympic Opening Ceremonies will be projected onto the side of the building... lots of fun!
Come one, come all!
PS- Weather.com calls for rain early, but it will be clear by 6pm!

July 4th & UWS
Tonight was a pre-celebration for Steve-O, who turned 30 at midnight.
A late lunch at Westway Diner on 9th Ave at 44th Street, then off to
Bay Ridge for a July 4th house party. In the midst of getting to this
very entertaining party, we discovered the Salty Dog which became our
snack spot after the party. This place was an impressive menu, many
flat screens displaying mainly sports, and featured an old fire truck
parked just within the entrance.

Searching for a spot to watch the fireworks, the best we could do was
view the show from a side street near Clark Street off the R train.
Next year a rooftop anywhere would have been better! Good show either
way...
Lastly, ended up in the UWS to countdown to midnight for Steve-O's
birthday. Avalon closed, so we found a row of places around 84th &
Columbus Ave. Prohibition seems to offer the best combo of food,
drink, music, and dance. Had a good time...
Happy Birthday Steve-O!

Launching the website...
So this is the first post. A blog simply conceived to promote better living in New York City. There are people I will depend on to help 'populate' the blog and website by the simple fact that they always know where the party is, the brunch is, and where the not-so-known jewels of the city are hiding.
This all started because I had to postpone my rooftop party to celebrate my birthday. Two friends from my sushi group still showed up because even though I sent out a message via email, the word didn't get to them. It occurred to me that I need a better way to communicate with people, and consequently it would be nice if I had a speedy way to spontaneously get the word out about new things that come to my attention. So if email and text don't do it, maybe this will!
So let the info start flowing, from which I will update the top ten list every so often.
