Discovering Obivia at 201 Lafayette... Should be sponsored by Cinemax with all the 70s porn that is featured on several flat screens. Good DJ... Loungey vibe...
So now I have cards.... Will be giving them out throughout the weekend. Maybe make a new set with just website on them.

July 4th & UWS

Tonight was a pre-celebration for Steve-O, who turned 30 at midnight.
A late lunch at Westway Diner on 9th Ave at 44th Street, then off to
Bay Ridge for a July 4th house party. In the midst of getting to this
very entertaining party, we discovered the Salty Dog which became our
snack spot after the party. This place was an impressive menu, many
flat screens displaying mainly sports, and featured an old fire truck
parked just within the entrance.

Searching for a spot to watch the fireworks, the best we could do was
view the show from a side street near Clark Street off the R train.
Next year a rooftop anywhere would have been better! Good show either
way...

Lastly, ended up in the UWS to countdown to midnight for Steve-O's
birthday. Avalon closed, so we found a row of places around 84th &
Columbus Ave. Prohibition seems to offer the best combo of food,
drink, music, and dance. Had a good time...

Happy Birthday Steve-O!

Test

Seeing if this works....
Another list to be made... The top after hours meal locations in NYC... Which would include Mamoun's (StMarks or MacDougal), Westway Diner, and Express...

The First and Last Top Ten...

When reading back through these, I realized that not only am I going to have difficulty recreating this list... but frankly I want to be different. Hence, there will be the 'Special Seven' and not the standard 'Top Ten.'
  • Fri/Sat Night at Gibraltar Lounge @ 20 Prince Street
  • Picnic @ Governor's Island
  • Euro Cup Soccer at Sunburst Cafe @ 3rd Ave & 18th Street
  • The Visitor @ Any movie Theater
  • Sat. Morning Ultimate Frisbee & Soccer @ Morningside Park
  • A glass of wine at Me Bar @ 14th Floor of La Quinta Inn 32nd Street bet. 5th & 6th Aves
  • 4am Falafel at Mamoud's @ MacDougal & Bleecker St
  • People Watching @ Museum of Natural History Steps @ 81st St & 5th Ave
  • Steak Frites at Cafe Charbon @ Orchard & Stanton near Delancey/Essex JF stop
  • Street Basketball @ 3rd st & 6th Ave
Soon I will have to post the top ten best theaters in NYC... I just saw Hancock at the Clearview Ziegfeld and it shot to #2 behind the Imax at Lincoln Center...
Humbly reccomend catching a matinee at the Magic Johnson Theater off of 125th Street on West side. Something like $6 for all movies.

We're mobile now!

Now I'll be updating the blog via email from the road. So if I hear of anything good, I will post directly to the blog for all to see. DD
